Tepeyac is an approved Adult Education service provider in New Mexico and receives grant funding from the New Mexico Higher Education Department in Santa Fe. In addition to this funding, the staff and students hold fundraisers to assist with items not covered through grants. All ‘Tepeyac’ instructional services and materials are free of charge to our students. However, funds are needed:

  • The GED Testing Service governs student testing fees for those individuals wanting to take the GED Exam in order to obtain their New Mexico High School Diploma. Unlike children, adult students must pay for their High School Diploma.
  • for student travel expenses to workshops and conferences.
  • as stipends for our peer tutor program - students helping students -
  • as stipends to assist with on site babysitting to allow single parents to attend instruction
  • to assist students with gas money allowing them to attend instruction

(the average per capita income for over half of our students is less then $5,000 per year).
